History
Since the age of Roman Empire to the age of the Knight Templars, this land always produced very appreciated wines.
In Xllth century, the builders of the castle of Brissac feasted with wines of their farms, which was a part of the Domain of Anglas.
After the Revolution, several owners succeeded one another. And it is in 1890 that Roger's great-grandmother inherited from this domain.
This very dynamic woman decided to stop the breeding of the silkworm, which was a very flourished activity in Cevennes since the XIII th century.
She made uproot mulberry trees, feeder tree of the silkworm, and made plant 60 ha of vineyards. At the same time, she made build on the domain a wine cellar .
André Gaussorgues, her son, the grandfather of Roger, succeeded her. In 1929, in order to organize a better marketing of wines of the sector, he was one of initiator of saint Bauzille de Putois' cooperative cellar . Jean Gaussorgues, one of his sons, Roger's uncle, protected the vineyard and was the first to develop on the domain tourist activities along the river the Hérault which lines a part of the property.
Today, Carole and Roger wanted to go out of the cooperative to develop a variety of rare wines on 12 ha of vineyards.
After big works of clearing , new plots of land appeared on grounds with great potential.
They chose in 1999 to cultivate their vineyards in Organic farming, innovator step for this time, but clear, so much it seemed just to them and in agreement with themselves.
They continue and develop even today the welcome in the Domain with a shop where they sell their wines and a lot of quality accommodations.
