Far from the hassle of the seaside, in an atypical setting on the doorstep of the Cevennes National Park, walk through an organic vineyard. You will be charmed by the beauty of the landscapes surrounded by forests of helms and white oaks and cross through scrubland populated by many aromatic plants. You will walk through organic vines and walk alongside the river of the Hérault. The path is 6km in length surrounded by 115ha of nature : a beautiful Walking in the Cévennes !
Let yourself be guided by this walk in the Cevennes
Put on your walking shoes and come to the Domaine d’Anglas to start your walk on this winemaker’s path! Leave your car on the campsite’s car park and go to the campsite’s reception. You will be given a guide to help you make the most of your walk. Then follow the signs and the 17 information boards that are scattered along this 6km walk at the heart of a 12 ha vineyard : Domaine d’Anglas. this circuit offer many viewpoints onto the castle of Brissac, the gorges of the Hérault or even the Mont Aigoual.
At the halfway point, there are some picnic table and chairs surrounded by vines so that you can eat in comfort.
During this walk, the many information boards tell you about the history of the place, the philosophy and the different grape varieties used to make the wine. You will also discover what role the sheep play when they come to fee round the vines. You might even get a chance to see them! Indeed, from December to March, the shepherd of 400 brings his flock so that they can feed on the grass around the vines and naturally fertilise the vineyard. Once you have finished the walk, you get a free wine tasting! You can then see the result of the hard work put into keeping these vines organic and sulphite free from the Terrasses du Larzac.
